Julia Newell Marshall clearly saw a way to benefit her community when she became the Duluth-Superior Area Community Foundation’s first donor. Through her many gifts to our unrestricted endowment and operating funds, Miss Marshall looked ahead and saw that the Community Foundation would be a lasting form for her community legacy.
